Child, diagnosed with hepatoblastoma—a rare childhood liver cancer—changes a parents life overnight. Faced with chemotherapy, surgery, and ultimately a life-saving liver transplant that gave her a second chance at life. Watching your child fight with resilience, grace, and grit lit a fire that be couldn’t ignore.

Seeing the healing power of sport in a child’s recovery—whether from illness, trauma, or personal hardship—was a turning point for me. It wasn’t just about physical strength; it was about confidence, connection, and the quiet resilience that sport can unlock. For us, Transplant Sport and the British Transplant Games were where we witnessed this firsthand. Watching a child rebuild through movement, community, and play made me realise that sport isn’t just a pastime—it’s a pathway. That moment planted the seed for BeStrong Sports: a platform built to empower young people, offering not just training, but tools for emotional strength, self-belief, and opportunity.
